Free
Up to 50 records, barcode scanning, shelves, hunts and CSV export.
Pro
$39.99 / year
Room for 5,000 records, 300 AI cover scans a year, value history, and everything in Free.
Prefer to pay monthly? Pro is also $3.99 a month — the yearly price is the cheaper way round, which is why it is the one quoted above.
Barcode scanning is unmetered on both plans — it runs against our own catalogue, so it costs us almost nothing and we do not ration it. AI cover recognition is the one thing that costs real money per use, so it comes as an allowance: 5 to try on the free plan, 300 a year with Pro, and top-up packs at $2.99 for 100 if you are cataloguing a lot of pre-barcode records at once.
Record shops and fairs: we do partner accounts with much larger limits, free for a year. If you run one, write to hello@spindlmusic.com.
Why there is a record limit at all
Because there is a real cost behind each record — metadata lookups, cover art, value refreshes, the AI snippet — and a number we can actually honour is worth more than the word "unlimited", which this site used to say and which was never true. 5,000 records is roughly a wall of shelving; if you pass it, write to us and we will sort it out rather than lock you out of your own collection.
If you stop paying
Your collection stays. The account goes read-only — everything is still there, still exportable, still yours — and it comes straight back if you subscribe again. We do not delete collections.
